Oxfam New Zealand dares you to undertake the world's greatest team challenge to help overcome poverty and injustice. The challenge is for your team of four to complete 100kms in 36 hours and to raise funds to help some of the world's poorest people. The course is a fast and scenic - a total of 100km. 100k, what a fantastic milestone! You will ride through magnificent countryside from one world famous tourist destination to another. A great way to spend a weekend, with the event totally organised for you. The event hosted 3,800 competitors in 2008. Starts at Ward Street in Rotorua at 10am and finishes at the Taupo Events Centre. 3 day mountain bike event. The event will begin in Whakatane and finish in Taupo coming through Rotorua along the way with two overnight camps set up. Travel through Forrest, bush, around lakes and along ridges while experiencing great camaraderie and some of the most beautiful country in New Zealand.

7.30pm Great Lake Centre Theatre. Dame Malvina has an extensive concert, oratorio and recital repotoire. Her services to Opera, and the community were acknowledged in 1991 when she was invested Dame of the British Empire. Malvina - My Life In Song reflects her love of all things musical. As a young girl country singing was a favourite pastime, which was then followed by the desire to take part in many Operatic Socities Productions. Her three special guests are the brilliant young soprano Rachelle Pike, popular cabaret entertainer Vicki Lee and acclaimed accompanist Kirsten Simpson, who is returning specially from London.

MotoTT holds regular motorcycle track days at Taupo Motorsport Park. These track days are designed to be a fun, non competitive environment in which to test your bike and your riding skills. Go as fast or as slow as you like with no cars (or police) to worry about. Riders are given sessions of 25 minutes (10-12 laps on the full 3.5km track). You may select 3 groups to ride in (1=fast, 2=medium and 3=slower). Spaces are limited so booking is essential to secure a place. To pre-register for a track day email Peter, please include your name, bike make/model, preferred riding group and track day date you wish to pre-register for.

Located just off the Napier/Taupo highway, Mountain Valley is a unique wilderness destination beside the Mohaka River, within easy reach of Taupo and Napier. The 6 hour event is a great entry level, all women's team adventure race. The core disciplines are trail walking, non-technical mountain biking and white water rafting. It is aimed at women of all abilities with the aims being to enjoy the outdoors, to embrace challenge and have a good time. It is also a great social weekend in a wonderful location.
